FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

When will The Bend open?

The two cabins — The River's Edge Lodge and The River's Edge Cottage — are in development. Beta stays are anticipated before Christmas, with a spring grand opening planned. Dates depend on construction progress.

What is The Bend?

The Bend is a secluded 20-acre private estate on the Shenandoah River near Luray, Virginia, with two luxury cabins set directly along the water. Travel River Bend is the hospitality brand behind it.

Can I book now?

Not yet — booking isn't open. Join the opening list to get the first reservation window when it does.

What's the difference between the Lodge and the Cottage?

The River's Edge Lodge is the larger 2-bedroom cabin, for couples, families, and small groups. The River's Edge Cottage is an intimate 1-bedroom stay for couples and solo travelers. Both sit directly on the river.

Are the cabins really on the river?

Yes. This isn't “river access” down the road — the cabins are placed directly along the water's edge on private frontage, on a secluded 20-acre estate.

Can I rent both cabins together?

Yes. The Bend can be booked as a whole-estate retreat with both the Lodge and the Cottage — ideal for families, friends, or small groups who want the place to themselves.

Will pets be allowed?

The pet policy is still being decided. Opening-list members will help shape it.

Will there be hot tubs?

Built-in hot tubs are planned for both cabins, subject to final completion.

How can I follow construction?

The Journal, plus roughly twice-monthly updates to the opening list.

Where exactly is it?
