Why we chose this bend in the river
There is a particular bend in the Shenandoah where the river slows, widens, and seems to take a breath. We stood on that bank for the first time a few years ago and did the thing everyone does: went quiet.
The land came together in pieces, from a first eleven acres to the roughly twenty we hold today, all of it fronting the water. For a while we did not build anything at all. We camped it. We watched where the morning fog sat, learned which bank caught the sunrise, and found the spots where the quiet was deepest.
That is the whole origin of Travel River Bend. Not a spreadsheet, not a market study. A bend in the river worth slowing down for, and the stubborn idea that other people should get to feel it too.
